What We Are Learning: September 18-September 22
Monday, September 18:
Shared Reading: This week, we are focusing on alliteration. We will choral read alliteration poems and notice the words with the same beginning sound.
Reading: I can think about what I see in the pictures of my book to learn more. We will look at the pictures in non-fiction books to learn more.
Guided Reading: Small groups will begin this week. Students will receive individualized instruction based on reading assessments.
Word Study: I can read and write the sight word you. I can name the sound of the letter Ss. We will learn the sight word YOU by reading a poem and building the word with playdoh and magnetic letters. We will also learn the sound Ss makes by sorting pictures that make the Ss sound and pictures that do not make the Ss sound.
Social Studies: I can identify how a person helps our community. We will learn the tools different careers use to help our community.
Writing: I can stretch my story into beginning, middle, end. We will learn how to write a small moment and include the events in the story.
Math: I can show one more with manipulatives and a drawing. We will start with a number 1-6, build it with counters, then add one more to find the new number.
