Shared Reading: Read I'm a Little Snowflake.
Standard: RF.K.4- Read emergent-reader texts with purpose and understanding.
Reading: I can read harder books by using all the strategies I know. I can check if my reading makes sense. I can sound out words using the phonics dance.
Standards: RF.K.3- Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. RF.K.2d- Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds in words. RF.K3a- Demonstrate basic knowledge of letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary or most frequent sound for each consonant.
Word Study: with, one
Standard: RF.K.3c- Read common high-frequency words by sight.
Social Studies: I can compare and contrast the locations of people, places, and environments and describe their characteristics.
Standards: KSS2.a- Describe the relative locations of objects using the terms near/far, left/right, and behind/in front. KSS2.c: Identify traffic symbols and map symbols. Examples: stop sign, school crossing and symbols for land, water, roads, and cities on a map KSS2.d: Describe characteristics of the school’s layout and environment. KSS2.e: Identify neighborhood characteristics and the jobs that people do in neighborhoods. KSS2.f: Construct maps and models of neighborhoods, incorporating such structures as homes, park, grocery store, places of worship, and transportation lines.
